Boys soccer scores from Wednesday…Bellingham beat Lakewood 6-0, Sehome and Anacortes played a 1-all tie, Squalicum shut out Meridan 4-0, Lynden defeated Burlington 1-0, Lynden Christian lost to Sedro-Woolley 6-1, Mount Baker and Blaine tied 2-2 and Ferndale beat Nooksack Valley by forfeit.
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has announced two changes to the state’s high school basketball Rating Percentage Index that helps determine the make-up of the state tournament. Out-of-state opponents will no longer all be considered teams with a .500 record. And district playoff games will now be included in a team’s RPI.
The Lynden baseball team is ranked #1 in Class 2A by Washingtonbaseballpoll.com. The Lions are off to a 4-0 start. Also in 2A Blaine is 3rd and Sehome is 5th. Lynden Christian is ranked #3 in Class 1A.
The Bellingham Herald is reporting Lynden High School basketball star Elisa Kooiman will play in the Truax Memorial Northwest Shootout in Hillsboro, Oregon next month. The game is set for Apr. 15th at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. Kooiman led Lynden to the state championship and was named first-team all-state in her just-concluded senior season. She’ll play her college ball at Northwest Nazarene.
