BELLINGHAM, Wash. – High school students at Bellingham, Options, Sehome and Squalicum are planning to walk out of class Wednesday at 11:22 a.m., exactly a week, down to the minute Pacific Time, of when the school shooting began in Parkland, Florida.
One of the student organizers says they want to honor the victims and take action.
Some students may decide to then attend a rally at Bellingham City Hall to protest school violence.
The schools’ principals say while they are proud the students are collaborating and taking action on something they are passionate about, the priority is that all students feel, and are, safe.
Police are expected to be on hand to help peacefully protesting students at city hall.
