BELLINGHAM, WASH – High winds expected Friday prompted the National Weather Service to issue a ‘High Wind Watch’.

The windstorm is forecast to hit late Friday morning and last through the afternoon into the evening.

“What these winds can do is that they can break branches, maybe also toppled weakened trees, and produce power outages,” says Meteorologist Johnny Berg.

Berg says they’re now calling for sustained winds of 20 to 40 miles-per-hour with gusts up to 60.

We’ll probably see the strongest winds Friday Afternoon.
