ISLAND COUNTY, Wash. – A head-on collision near Deception Pass left two Oak Harbor residents seriously injured Thursday afternoon.
The State Patrol reports a 79-year-old driver was southbound when she suffered a medical emergency and swerved into the on-coming lane.
She collided head-on with a car driven by a 68-year-old man.
The woman was airlifted to a hospital in Everett while the man was taken to Anacortes.
Highway 20 was blocked just south of the Deception Pass bridge for about 3 hours.
