SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — Drivers using Seattle’s new downtown Highway 99 tunnel will pay tolls starting Nov. 9.
The Department of Transportation says the rates will vary by time of day with an afternoon-peak rate of $2.25 each direction.
The Seattle Times reports the tunnel portals have overhead detectors and cameras that will record passing vehicles.
Drivers without a GoodtoGo pass account will be billed by mail with a surcharge of $2 per trip.
