BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Advocates for a Bellingham illegal homeless encampment have announced more protests in the south hill neighborhood of the city’s Mayor this weekend.
The Bellingham Occupied Protest Mutual Aid Instagram page is promoting a so-called “Housing For All! March on Seth Fleetwood”.
Protesters are told to bring noisemakers and chalk, and meet at Lowell elementary at noon Saturday.
Among their demands: amnesty, free housing and no more tent camp sweeps.
This as the City’s deadline for homeless campers at Civic Athletic Complex approaches.
Fleetwood told the City council Monday that the city public works department starts to move tents and belongings next Tuesday if campers have not vacated the camp he said is unapproved and illegal.
