LYMAN, Wash. – Homes bordering the Skagit River in the Skagit County community of Lyman could be in danger.
According to U.S Geological Survey data, the river is was at 23.95 feet at Monday afternoon. That flooding created major erosion problems.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports as the river is returning to normal levels, but extensive damage from erosion is visible after the river cut away banks close to homes in the town east of Sedro-Woolley.
The Board of Skagit County Commissioners requested assistance on Friday from the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, to help protect homes and prevent damage to water and electrical lines.
