MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – An hours-long standoff at a Mount Vernon apartment complex Wednesday morning ended safely.
It had started as a domestic violence call.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports a man was armed with a knife when officers arrived and locked himself in a bathroom, refusing to come out.
After several hours, crisis negotiators were able to get the man to emerge, at which point he was arrested.
Though police say the man threatened to harm others with the knife, no one was hurt.
