GLACIER, Wash. – Detectives are carefully searching a property in the Glacier area after the owners found human skulls.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating at the area in the 9100 block of Mt. Baker Highway, but right now they’re not calling it suspicious, said Undersheriff Jeff Parks.

“We’re not responding to any initial report of a crime, or a crime scene, or anything like that. It’s just more of a suspicious circumstance and that we’re going up to assist them and determine what may or may not be there on that property,” Parks said.

The property has been in the same family since the 1800s, and Parks said it wouldn’t be a big surprise to find skulls there.

“It’s thought that one of the family members, going back quite a ways, may have even had a skull, or something along those lines,” said Parks.
