BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Hundreds of cyclists took to the streets of Bellingham to recreate an historic event on Sunday, May 1st.

The city had asked bike riders to help kick off Bike Everywhere Month by taking part in a bike parade.

It was a recreation of a bike parade held on May 1st, 1948 that was captured in an iconic photo.

Riders began at the WECU building on Holly Street and rode to Bellingham’s waterfront.
