BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Hurricane Harvey sent ripples throughout the country after the storm shut down 20 percent of U.S. refineries, slowing down gas supplies.

Bellingham drivers saw a hike of about 10 cents per gallon in a week, while other states saw prices go up 20 cents or more, AAA reported.

GasBuddy reported this was the largest weekly national average price increase since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Prices are expected to go back to normal by mid September.
