SEATTLE – Following back-to-back wins over No. 25 Arizona State and No. 9 Arizona, Washington has been recognized as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I Team of the week. Washington knocked off ranked opponents in back-to-back games for the first time since 2007 and is now 17-6 on the season, 7-3 in Pac-12 play.
The Huskies opened the weekend with a 68-64 victory over No. 25 Arizona State where Noah Dickerson scored 21 points and added 16 rebounds. Freshman Jaylen Nowell recorded 15 points and a career-high tying nine rebounds.
Washington followed that up with an epic buzzer beater win over No. 9 Arizona. With the game tied at 75, Arizona freshman blocked Nowell’s shot in the lane directly into the hands of junior Dominic Green who sunk a 3 to give UW a 78-75 victory. Dickerson scored 25 points while David Crisp added 16 and Nowell and Green each had 14.
Up next, UW travels to Oregon on Thursday, Feb. 8 to face the Ducks at 7 p.m.
