BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A ship made by a Bellingham boat builder was named 2018 Vessel of the Year at last month’s International Workboat Show in New Orleans.
All American Marine built the Enhydra at their new facility on Bellingham’s waterfront for a company that offers harbor tours of San Francisco Bay in California.
All American says the 128-foot Enhydra is the largest lithium-ion battery electric hybrid powered vessel in North America.
It was launched in Bellingham last August and delivered to the company in September.
WWU’s Center for Business and Economic Research says marine trades create or support more than 6,000 jobs, or about 7% of the total workforce in Whatcom County.
