Drivers traveling on Interstate 5 between Skagit and Snohomish counties should plan for several nightly lane closures this week as crews prepare for a full, long-term closure of the southbound Stillaguamish River bridge.

This week contractor crews from Southern Road & Bridge, LLC, working for the WSDOT will close up to two lanes in each direction of I-5 overnight to restripe the roadway and install barriers in preparation for the full southbound bridge closure scheduled for the week of June 21.

This work is part of a $5.3 million project, and will continue into the Fall 2021.
