LAS VEGAS, Nev. — It might not be a surprise that busy I-5 is Washington’s deadliest highway.
Fleet management company GEOTAB looked at statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 2008 to 2017.
It found there are an average of 26 fatalities each year on I-5 in Washington.
But our state’s deadliest highway actually has the 10th lowest fatal crash rate.
The deadliest stretch of highway in the nation is by far Florida’s Highway 1, with more than a thousand fatal accidents since 2008.
