BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A navy helicopter crew rescued an injured hiker near Ross Lake just north of Diablo Tuesday.
Naval Air Station Whidbey Island said this was their twenty-ninth mission in Washington this year.
The hiker suffered a leg injury and couldn’t walk, but formed an X with her trekking poles so the Search and Rescue team could find her.
They hoisted the hiker onboard their helicopter and transported her to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.
