OLYMPIA, Wash. — Governor Inslee is easing COVID-19 restrictions on restaurants and theaters.
While the governor has not moved any counties forward or backward in his four-phase reopening plan, he did say more activities would be allowed throughout the state.
At a news conference Tuesday, Inslee said restaurants in second- or third-phase counties can now serve alcohol until 11 p.m.
Restaurants in Phase 2 counties, like Whatcom County, can also increase their table size to six.
Also in Phase 2, movie theaters will be able to operate at 25% capacity.
In Whatcom County, there were three new positive coronavirus test results Monday, the most recent data available.
The state’s data dashboard shows 89% of the county’s 49 deaths to date have been in persons age 60 and over, while 82% of positive tests have been attributed to people under 60.
The state’s risk assessment dashboard shows the 7-day positivity dropped below the state goal of 2% for the most current rolling 7-day periods starting September 28th, down to 1.4% for the week ending Monday; but sometimes the most recent data is updated as more results become available.
