Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarrod Dyson will have season ending surgery to repair a sports hernia and a core-muscle issue. The 33-year-old didn’t travel with the Mariners on their seven-game road trip . The club made the announcement Monday night.

According to MLB.com, manager Scott Servais said Dayson is seeing a specialist on the East Coast later this week for the pelvic surgery.

Dyson is hitting .251 with 5 home runs and 30 RBI’s. He has 28 stolen bases this season to lead the team.
