BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham Police K-9 successfully tracked down a suspected DUI driver after he ran from police.

Bellingham police attempted to pull over a person driving erratically near I-5 and Bakerview Road on Wednesday, but the driver sped away.

Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says the pursuit lasted about 4 miles on I-5 to Slater Road and then to Northwest Drive where the driver drove the wrong way in a round-about and sped past stop signs.

The driver, later identified as Alan Hernandez-Borjas, eventually jumped out of his vehicle and over a fence.

K-9 Destro and his handler found him hiding nearby and he was arrested without further incident.
