Kent Police made over a million dollars in a year from school zone traffic tickets

KENT, Wash. — Kent brought in a record $1.2 million last year in speeding infractions caught by school traffic cameras.

KOMO News reports police in Kent issued a total of 9,342 tickets last year to drivers caught speeding in four school zones with cameras.

Kent police plan to use about $870,000 of money to buy 14 new police vehicles.
