BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Kids can win big at the annual Youth Trout Fishing Contest this weekend.
Fishing enthusiasts under 14 are encouraged to compete in this year’s derby at the juvenile fishing pond near Bellingham Trout Hatchery at Whatcom Falls Park at no cost.
The Northwest Washington Steelheaders of Whatcom County said prizes include gift certificates, tackle boxes and rod & reel sets.
Contestants may choose their prize in the order they catch and report their two trout limit.
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police will be on hand to answer any questions about local fishing and hunting regulations.
The derby will take place May 5 from 8:30AM to 1:00PM.
