SEATTLE, Wash. — A non-profit is being investigated for animal cruelty after King County deputies found 22 horses sick and malnourished on an Enumclaw farm.

KOMO reports the horses didn’t have shelter and were living in extremely muddy conditions.

Veterinarians found parasites in their feces.

Deputies were prepared to arrest Sharon Hunter during a raid on the farm Saturday but she wasn’t there.

She operates the Hunters Wind Wild Horse Rescue non-profit and already faces an animal cruelty charge in Snohomish County.

The horses are now being cared for by another horse rescue operation.
