KITTITAS, Wash. — The road rage suspect who killed a Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputy, wounded a police officer and died in after a shootout earlier this week was living in the U.S. illegally.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says 29-year-old Juan Manuel Flores Del Toro entered the U.S. from Mexico on a temporary agricultural worker visa in 2014, but didn’t leave or extend it when it expired.
Police are still investigating the suspect’s background.
