LA CONNER, Wash. — The La Conner School District is suing makers of e-cigarettes.
The lawsuit against three separate vaping companies claims they used deceptive practices to target their products towards kids, blaming them for the increased use of vaping products among youth.
Superintendent Whitney Meissner told the Skagit Valley Herald that “at the end of the day, it really comes down to the health and safety of our kids.”
The lawsuit says youth vaping among Skagit County eighth graders is higher than the state average and use among high school seniors has increased by 11% in the last two years.
