Labor org. holds memorial for workers who died on the job

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Northwest Washington Central Labor Council will host a memorial in Bellingham for workers killed on the job in Washington last year.

The ceremony is 12 PM Monday at the Workers Memorial Monument outside the Central Library on Lottie Street.

A bagpiper will play Amazing Grace while the names of those who died are read, followed by Taps.

The Department of Labor and Industries reports 91 workers died on the job or from workplace illnesses in 2018.
