EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The trial of a Lake Stevens man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in 2013 is finally coming to a close.
The Everett Daily Herald reports that 31-year-old Anthony Garver faces 32 years in prison, the maximum sentence under state standards.
Garver was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder last month in the death of 20-year-old Phillipa Evans-Lopez.
He was arrested in Snohomish County in 2013, but his trial was delayed by questions about his mental health and then by his escape from a state hospital.
