BELLINGHAM, WASH – Heavy rain this week has the National Weather Service worried about landslides.

A landslide warning is now in effect for Western Washington.

This after two busy roads in Whatcom County had to be shut down for days because of falling rocks.

Lake Whatcom Boulevard and Chuckanut drive are open now.

We’ve had well above average rainfall already this month.

All of that water saturates soils, making slopes more prone to slides.
