BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Positions changed in a Bellingham City Council race following the latest ballot count.
Kristina Michele Martens now leads Russ Whidbee in the race for the council’s At-Large position.
She has slightly more than 50% of the vote.
Whidbee was leading following the initial count on election night.
That was the only major local race that saw a change.
Voters in Bellingham are still rejecting two of four initiatives.
They’re turning down Initiatives 1 and 4 that would regulate rent agreements and worker pay and scheduling.
The Whatcom County Auditor will release another count Thursday at about 5 p.m.
