BELLINGHAM, Wash. — You may see an onslaught of active emergency vehicles in Whatcom County today, but this time, they won’t be bringing bad news.
Multiple law enforcement and fire service agencies will participate in a “Salute to Medical First Responders” organized by the Blaine Police Department.
Vehicles will drive in formation from a staging area in Bellingham to the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
They will stop in the hospital parking lot and keep their emergency lights on as a thank you to the dedicated medical staff working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis.
Public participation is not encouraged and police have not released the timing of the event to prevent well-meaning members of the public from joining in.
