Lynden Christian High School boys basketball coach Roger DeBoer will put on the radio headphones and join our own Mark Scholten to broadcast the Lynden Christian-Meridian football game Thursday night. The game can be heard on AM790 KGMI and KGMI.com.
Mark told the story of how it came to be: “Roger has been having his games called on the radio by L-C football coach Dan Kaemingk for many years now. At the district tournament last February Roger pointed at Kaemingk and said ‘When do I get to call one of his games?’ I didn’t have to hear that twice. I knew right away we’d take Coach DeBoer up on his offer.”
DeBoer and Kaemingk were teammates in multiple sports in their playing days with the Lyncs. On the football field Kaemingk was the quarterback and DeBoer was the tight end and kicker.
