LEAVENWORTH, Wash. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Defense says a 25-year-old soldier from Leavenworth was killed during combat operations in Afghanistan.
Army Sgt. Leandro Jasso died Saturday in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province.
An Army spokesman says Jasso was wounded by small arms fire and died at a field hospital.
He was on his third deployment to Afghanistan after enlisting in the Army in 2012.
