MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A three-year $600,000 grant will provide victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in Skagit County legal services and education programs.
The U.S. Department of Justice says the funds will allow victims who are isolated or speak limited English to get civil and criminal assistance at little to no cost.
Part of the grant will pay for education programs about domestic and sexual violence in immigrant and Native American communities.
The funds will be administered by Skagit Domestic Violence and Assault Services and the Northwest Justice Project in Seattle.
