BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Most residents at the downtown Bellingham retirement home slated to close in March have already found new homes.

Housing specialist Dan Hammill helped all but ten residents at the Leopold find new homes in independent living, assisted living and adult family homes in the area.

Hammill says he will meet with representatives from the Bellingham Housing Authority, DSHS, City of Bellingham and Opportunity Council to discuss options for the remaining residents.

The Leopold’s Executive Director Peter Frazier says the owners are still developing plans for the building’s future and will announce them this spring.
