BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Lighthouse Mission is making efforts to be a good neighbor.

Their shelter, Base Camp, recently moved to the Bellingham Public Market building on Cornwall Avenue where it will operate for 3-4 years while a new permanent location is developed.

In an effort to support nearby businesses and residents, Lighthouse Mission Ministries has launched the Good Neighbor Project, which will work to maintain a safe and attractive area.

One new initiative is a bimonthly Neighborhood Advisory Group to allow neighbors to voice concerns related to the shelter and to form solutions as a group.

LMM is also adding a staff member to do litter patrol in the area and it plans to partner with local faith communities to clean up multiple downtown alleys this summer.
