BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham business made a big donation to support local youth organizations and food banks.
DeWaard & Bode recently celebrated its 74th anniversary by making a $28,000 donation.
The business gave $7,000 apiece to Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, Bellingham Food Bank, Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County and Helping Hands Food Bank, which serves all of Skagit County.
Owner Jerry Roorda says these organizations are facing increased requests for help at the same time the COVID-19 pandemic has made fundraising even more difficult and he encourages everyone to show them support.
