BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local COVID-19 cases appear to be trending downward.

According to the Whatcom County Health Department, infections may have peaked at the end of March.

They are reporting 364 confirmed cases of the disease and 32 associated deaths in Whatcom County.

Statewide, coronavirus-related deaths have surpassed 1,000 and confirmed COVID-19 cases have reached 18,811, with most cases occurring in King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Yakima counties.

Data from the Washington State DOH shows that a majority of the cases were in people between age 40 and 59.
