BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham group is looking to replace the Blossom Time Parade.
The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce recently announced the end of the Ski To Sea weekend event due in part to lack of financial support.
The parade was in its 98th year.
U.S. Marine Corps League Whatcom County Detachment #1335 has started a $30,000 fund raising effort to rename the event the Bellingham Memorial Day Parade.
Captain “Mac” McMaster of the group says the parade will honor the 17,000 living veterans in Whatcom county as well as those who have given their lives.
The Save The Parade Facebook page, with group contact information, can be found here.
