BLAINE, Wash. – The Whatcom Family and Community Network along with nonprofit Community Assistance Program (CAP) are partnering with The Gathering Place in Blaine to offer suicide prevention courses for teens and adults this month.

The classes, which are free and open to anyone 13 years or older, will offer training recognizing warning signs, breaking mental health stigma, and tips and resources for talking with someone who is struggling.

Two two-hour courses are being offered Saturday, June 11th, first at 9:30 a.m. and a repeat course at 1 p.m., both taking place at the CAP building in Blaine at 508 G Street.

In addition, two follow up courses will be held Saturday, June 25th for adults to be led by local youth, teaching adults techniques for establishing trust with the youth.
