BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A local production company is bringing their feature film to the digital screen this weekend.
Bellingham-based Talking to Crows decided to launch a limited release of Just Like the Men to gain exposure during the stay-at-home order.
The film, an adaptation of a silent film written by Bellingham local Ella Higginson in 1914, will be available as a 48-hour rental on Vimeo beginning Mother’s Day.
The screenplay satirizes Ella’s real-life experience helping another Bellingham woman with her successful run for legislative office shortly after the state’s women received the right to vote.
Five years in the making, the film was planned for a 2020 release to coincide with the centennial of women’s suffrage.
The film will be available on Vimeo through July 5th.
