FERNDALE, Wash. — The state has recognized some local school boards for their commitment to closing opportunity gaps among students.
The Ferndale School District was one of 25 districts recognized as 2020 Boards of Distinction by the Washington State School Directors’ Association.
School boards in the Mount Vernon and Anacortes districts also made the list.
To be awarded, boards had to show a clear link between their leadership in applying state standards and closing gaps that impact student success.
