LUMMI NATION, WA. – (KGMI.com) Western Washington tribes are receiving funding for juvenile support programs.

The U.S. Department of Justice funded more than $2 million to six tribes in the state on Monday, November 6th.

Nearly $200,000 is going to the Nooksack Tribe and the Lummi Nation.

The funds will be used to improve and coordinate services like mental health and substance abuse treatment and provide academic support for youth.

The grant is part of the Consolidated Tribal Assistant Grants for this year.
