LUMMI NATION, Wash – The Lummi Nation says its anglers are catching a lot, about 200,000 pounds so far, of farmed Atlantic Salmon.
And that’s just since the Tribe declared a state of emergency on Thursday.
Cooke Aquaculture’s salmon farm in the San Juan Islands failed over a week ago, releasing thousands of farmed Atlantic salmon.
The State formed a response team involving multiple agencies.
The governor put a hold on any new permits for salmon farms.
