BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Lummi Indian Nation is one of ten Western Washington tribes to share in nearly $13 million to strengthen law enforcement and provide services for crime victims.

The funds are earmarked for reducing alcohol and substance-related crime, supporting crime victims, reducing elder abuse, and hiring a tribal attorney and advocate to assist crime victims with civil suits.

The grants were awarded by a variety of US Department of Justice agencies.
