SALISH, Wash. – The Lummi Nation is taking the next step in developing the Salish Village at I-5 and Slater Road.

They broke ground Tuesday on a travel center with 12 retail fuel pumps, truck stop amenities and a convenience store.

Tribal leaders say the project will provide a much-needed boost to the tribal and regional economy.

They plan to open the doors of the new facility by the spring of next year.
