LYNDEN, Wash. — A young man is in the hospital and another is in jail following a stabbing early Tuesday.

Chief Deputy Kevin Hester reports officers were called to a home in the 200 block of West Badger Road at about 2 AM and found a 23-year-old Lynden man with a stab wound to the abdomen.

He was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center, underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

Deputies learned the man had been arguing with 21-year-old Luke J. Anker of Everson who grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him.

They arrested Anker at the scene and booked him into the Whatcom County Jail.
