BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A 19-year-old man and two juveniles were arrested after gunshots were fired at Roosevelt Park Friday night, March 11th.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy reports that calls came in about a fight and shots fired just after 9 p.m.
Responding officers found shell casings and witnesses said the shots came from a white Mustang that had left the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies later spotted the car driving slowly on Woburn Street then pulled it over on McLeod Road near Squalicum High School.
Eugenio Herrera of Lynden was sitting in the back seat with a handgun underneath him.
A 17-year-old boy was driving and a 14-year-old male was found with metal knuckles in the back seat.
All three were arrested for investigation of drive-by shooting and weapons charges with Herrera booked into jail and the teens sent to juvenile detention.
Another 15-year-old boy in the car was not taken into custody.
