BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Lynden motorcyclist died in the crash on northbound I-5.
The wreck happened near Lake Samish just after 3:30 in the afternoon. A section of the highway was closed for hours.
The State Patrol said Kendell Van Duisen was speeding when he hit a guardrail.
The 36-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. No other cars were involved.
Social media posts indicate Van Duisen just purchased the Honda VTR 1000 in Mount Vernon and was riding it home when he crashed.
