LYNDEN, Wash — Police believe a drug deal was behind the shooting that took place in Lynden last week.

At about 10:30pm on February 5, Lynden Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting at Lynden City Park.

Police Chief Steve Taylor says three people from Skagit County agreed to meet a Bellingham man at the park to sell him narcotics, but when they arrived, two masked men robbed them.

One of the masked men fired a shot, hitting one of the men from Skagit County in the bicep area.

The 31-year-old is recovering at Harborview and Lynden Police are still investigating the incident.
