BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Makers of every age and ability in Whatcom County have sewn and donated over 12,000 cloth facemasks to local front-line healthcare and essential workers over the past month.

In addition to cloth masks, members of Makerspace and allied local organizations are manufacturing Tyvek surgical gowns, 3D printed face shields, and 3D printed mask extenders.

The group is making the protective equipment available they manufacture to organizations in need.

If your organization needs PPE, you can request it by filling out the PPE request form.

If you would like to assist by sewing masks, Makerspace will assist with finding patterns and connecting volunteers to local organizations who are making the masks.

Makerspace is also providing free kits of mask-making supplies.

Completed masks can be brought directly to the Bellingham Makerspace at Bellis Fair near Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Donations are welcome and will help pay local laundry facilities who are sanitizing and packaging hundreds of masks, as well as purchase materials and supplies for masks from Washington state businesses.
