BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man is recovering after he shot himself in the face while in a vehicle at a Bellingham fast food restaurant.
Bellingham Police Lt. Danette Beckley says two men were in the cab of a work truck at Wendy’s on the Guide Meridian Tuesday night at about 10:30 when one of them began handling a handgun.
The gun went off accidentally and the man handling the weapon was hit in the jaw.
He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The gun belongs to the other man, who wasn’t hurt.
The men are working here temporarily and aren’t from the area.
Beckley says no charges are expected.
